During a Martin Luther King Day event, as people were celebrating, a man named Mark Bartlett was arrested. He was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, but he did much worse. Bartlett was recorded in a video that showed him cursing, stating racial slurs, and even pulling a gun at a few bicyclists during an unnecessary confrontation in the middle of an anti-gun violence event, which started from a woman claiming that one of the bicyclists had ran over her foot. Afterwards, the bicyclists flee as they feared for their lives. The event that the motorcyclists were partaking in, the “Wheels Up, Guns Down” event, still continued as scheduled. When they later called the cops, Bartlett was found with his gun sitting in his car. He pleaded that he didn’t need a permit to carry the firearm, but it was still confiscated and he was arrested.
