In the summer of 2016, phone signals linked to Michael Cohen bounced off cell towers in Prague, Czech Republic. Cohen was Donald Trump’s lawyer at the time. The news is big because it contradicts Cohen’s tweet in April in which he said “Bad reporting, bad information and bad story by same reporter Peter Stone @McClatchyDC. No matter how many times or ways they write it, I have never been to Prague. I was in LA with my son. Proven!”.
Cohen has responded to these accusations by continuing to deny that he ever went to Prague. “I hear #Prague #CzechRepublic is beautiful in the summertime. I wouldn’t know as I have never been. #Mueller knows everything!” Cohen tweeted on Thursday in response to the accusations. Cohen pleaded guilty to many charges in August including bank fraud, tax fraud, and campaign finance law violations. Cohen said he would agree to help in the Russia investigation after he was charged.
