Recently, Mackenzie Lueck, a student at the University of Utah majoring in kinesiology, passed away. Her charred body was found in a shallow grave, which is when a body is not buried deep enough. Usually, people use this term when talking about murder. Lueck would have graduated next year.
31-year-old Ayoola Ajayi is the prime suspect. Sim Gill, the district attorney for the county, has stated that Ajayi is being charged with several offenses, including desecration of a body, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated murder, and obstruction of justice. Gill also stated that there is plenty of evidence against Ajayi.
There was also a hole in part of Lueck’s skull, indicating a hit to the head. All of this combined could put him in jail for a long time. Some people speculate that Ajayi could receive the death penalty, although Sim Gill said that it is too early to talk about the death penalty.
