The social network platform, Google Plus, has announced that they will be shutting down on April 2nd, 2019. An Email was sent to all of the platforms users stating, “Your personal Google+ account is going away on April 2, 2019,”
This wasn’t a huge shock to the internet and the small pool of users who actually post on the platform. The reasons for the shutdown is inactivity and maintenance issues. There are some people who are genuinely upset about the issue.
Although this really won’t affect the majority of internet users, It’s still sad to see something like this happen. Imagine all the time some people would spend building on their communities and making friends through this network. This just shows how we control the internet. We get to decide what we want to use and how.
