When you think of a company that Jeff Bezos owns, you likely think of Amazon. But Bezos owns more than just Amazon. Jeff Bezos currently owns multiple companies. Two of those companies are Amazon and Bezos Expeditions. Those two companies either own or are major investors of even more companies.
Let's start with Amazon. Amazon has many acquisitions. One of them is Twitch. Twitch is live streaming video platform that has millions of daily users. Another acquisition of Amazon is Whole Foods Market. Amazon purchased Whole Foods for $13.7 billion back in 2017. Amazon also owns Audible, a company that sells audio books, IMDB, a company at that reviews movies, Goodreads, a company that reviews books, and many more companies.
Bezos Expeditions, another company that Bezos owns, has major investments in many different companies. The most notable is Twitter. Other companies that Bezos Expeditions have invested in are General Fusion, Rethink Robotics, Stack Overflow, and Business Insider. Bezos himself has major investments in Google, Uber, and Airbnb. He is also the owner of Nash Holdings, who acquired the Washington Post in 2013.
All of this has lead to Jeff Bezos becoming the richest man in the world. His net worth is currently $140 billion. This is $43.6 billion higher than Bill Gates, who is the second richest person in the world. This could soon change because Bezos recently got a divorce with his wife after 25 years of marriage. The divorce would mean that the Bezos would need to split his money with his ex-wife.
