On Sunday, former US president Jimmy Carter praised Donald Trump for his actions on Iran while speaking to 500 people in his home church. The praise from Carter came two days after Donald Trump reportedly called for an airstrike against Iran for shooting down a US drone, only to call the airstrikes off last minute. The reason Trump called off the airstrikes is because he felt like the 150 lives that would be lost from the airstrikes was too much for shooting down a drone. After calling off the airstrikes, Trump then announced new sanctions against Iran.
“I agree with President Trump on his decision not to take military action against Iran. I had a lot of problems with Iran when I was in office,” Carter said. “We're supposed to be a ‘Christian’ nation, are we not? But we are known throughout the world as the most warlike country on Earth. And I would say almost all the wars in which we've been involved have been unnecessary.”
