On Thursday, former Vice President Joe Biden told a reporter that he had asked Obama not to endorse him for the 2020 election. After a reporter asked him why Obama had not yet endorsed him, Biden stated: “I asked President Obama not to endorse, and he doesn’t want to. Listen, we should — whoever wins this nomination should win it on their own merits”.

Biden announced his run for president on Thursday morning via social media. “Our country is being put to the test, but I’ve never been more optimistic about America. Together we can do this. Make a Day One donation to join us.” Biden tweeted. Currently, Joe Biden is doing well on polls on the Democratic nomination. In the latest poll by morning consult, 30% of the people surveyed said that Biden was their top pick for the Democratic nomination. But Biden is facing a problem. His popularity has declined in polls in recent weeks. Four weeks ago, 35% of respondents chose Biden as their top pick. Now, that number is down to 30%.
