Michigan Officially Legalizes Marijuana For Recreational Use

On Thursday, the state of Michigan officially legalized marijuana for recreational use. On November 6th, the people of Michigan voted in favor of proposal 1 which legalizes recreational marijuana use. Proposal 1 came into effect on December 6th. This makes Michigan the 10th state to legalize recreational marijuana. This new law will benefit Michigan by increasing their tax revenue. VS strategies, a cannabis consulting firm, estimates that by 2023, recreational marijuana will generate 134 million dollars in tax revenue for the state of Michigan.
