Some Types Of Therapies Can Prevent Depression

Worldwide, there are over 300 million people who live with depression. Depression is defined as two weeks or more of continued sadness, guild, or inadequacy. This negatively affects a person’s work and home life. Depression is also the number one cause of disabilities worldwide; sometimes, depression is so serious that it can lead to suicide.

However, scientists have found a way to prevent some cases of depression. The researchers found that therapies such as cognitive behavior therapy help teach skills that might help people control mood disorders. This reduces the chance of another strike of depression. When tested, researchers found that these therapies work better than antidepressants, with a success rate of over 50%.
