Steph Curry releases sneaker designed by the girl who asked why only boys sizes existed

A young fan of Stephen Curry named Riley co-designed a pair of Stephen Curries for International Women’s Day. In November, Riley wrote Stephen Curry a letter asking why there weren’t any Curry 5 shoes available for girls. Stephen Curry responded by saying he would change that and make it the way it should be. He also said he would give her one of the first pairs of the Curry 6 shoes when they come out. She received them on Christmas and was very excited to own a pair.

The Under Armour Icon Curry 6 “United We Win” shoes are different shades of purple and have encouraging message inside the shoe like “Be Bold” and “Girl Power”. Riley was asked by Stephen to add her personal design. The Curry 6 costs $130, and according to Under Armour, the money will go to scholarships for girls. "It's been amazing. It's a really special experience. I never imagined that this would happen," Riley said. "I'm really happy I wrote that letter." Riley did what she knew was right and enjoyed her experience along the way.
