The Boring Company's Underground Tunnel Project Explained

The Boring Company, a company owned by Multi-Billionaire Elon Musk, will unveil a tunnel under Los Angeles in 2 days. The tunnel was initially scheduled to open on December 10th, but it needed some extra work. The underground tunnels will transport automobiles from place to place at a top speed of 124 MPH. The project has received both criticism and praise. People criticizing the project say that it would cost way too much and that the boring company would not be able to pay for it. They also say that the tunnels won’t do anything to help traffic in LA. There is also the question of what happens when there is an earthquake and whether or not it will destabilize the ground. On the other side, people praising it say that it’s a great idea and that it will provide long distance transportation for millions of people and help solve the traffic problem in Los Angeles. They say the current subway system in America is flawed and doesn’t offer long distance travel. The Boring Company is planning to build tunnels in Chicago too. They plan to build a tunnel that goes from Downtown Chicago to Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The company says that the Chicago tunnel alone would cost $1 billion. To help finance the project, The Boring Company is selling flamethrowers (yes, flamethrowers). Elon Musk has a few other ambitious projects, including SpaceX, Hyperloop, and Neuralink.
