In an exciting and tight game, Michigan State stunned Duke.
In the thrilling game, the Spartans beat the number one overall seed by one point, with a score of 68 - 67. Before Duke played Michigan State, they beat UCF and Virginia Tech by less than three points. Duke’s luck for winning close endings must have ran out when they played Michigan State. Michigan State had a small lead of two with about 10 seconds left in the game. R.J. Barrett had a chance to tie the game when he went to the line for two. He barely missed his first shot, but he still missed. You might intentionally miss and try to get the rebound, but whether Barrett did this or not is debatable. Either way, he made the shot after a bounce on the back of the rim, to cut Michigan State’s lead to one. After Barrett’s second foul shot, Duke failed to score and lost the game.
Due to sloppy passing, poor shot selection, and careless passing, Michigan State will advance to the final four to play Texas Tech and Duke won’t.
