Trump Says He Will Sign an Executive Order That Will Make Colleges Support Free Speech

Yesterday, Donald Trump announced that he would sign an executive order that will require colleges to support free speech while making his CPAC speech. “Today I’m proud to announce that I will be very soon signing an executive order requiring colleges and universities to support free speech if they want federal research dollars,” Trump said. “If they want our dollars, and we give it to them by the billions, they’ve got to allow people like Hayden and many other great young people and old people to speak. Free speech. If they don’t, it will be costly. That will be signed soon.”

Donald Trump announced this after Hayden Willaims, a conservative, was attacked at UC Berekely. Williams appeared on stage and briefly spoke. After he spoke, he praised Willaims. “He took a punch for all of us,” Trump said. “And we could never allow that to happen. And here is, in closing with Hayden, here’s the good news. He’s going to be a wealthy young man.”
