Why the "Baby it's Cold Outside" ban doesn't make sense

This Christmas season the classic holiday song Baby it’s Cold Outside may not be playing on many radio stations around America. The reasoning? Many people think this song promotes rape culture. This song should not be associated with this as this song was not intended to have these connotations. This song originally appeared in the movie Neptune's Daughter. Some argue it may have been received better if the gender roles were switched but as it turns out it was performed twice in the movie with a man being the agitator and once a woman being the agitator. I don’t think this should be a gender issue as this is a problem for both genders. This song has been a beloved holiday song so there should be no reason it should be banned. Many radio stations still play this despite the controversy. Good on them.
